When contented, his eyes are the perfect steel grey
Of the spectral midpoint between dark and light.
When impassioned, they blaze the perfect purple
At the fulcrum between redshift and blue:
That purple of the mists of Limbo.

Like any being of consequence, he wears a moustache.
For truly, does any art or fashion transcend
A perfectly crafted moustache?

Cocked on a cropped shock of flaming red, he dons a derby hat.
For what says, “the power is mine to do as I wilt”
more fully than does a derby hat?

Also, a grey hooded sweater, against the winds of Limbo fierce.
And for those times when e’en for The Banjoman,
'Tis wise to hide his face.

Armour for him against sorcery -- the coveted denim of magicless Earth,
Tucked into those purple boots whose strides span the realities.

And finally there is the banjo.

A ring, the ouroboros, wrought of ore from a sentient star,
Taut with hide of the Nemean lion,
It lay across his back on an orange strap
Of demon-wing leather.

Whispering its wisdom to him
And wreaking havoc incomprehensible
In equal measure.

And so The Banjoman,
From between times and places,
From between thoughts and dreams,
Both recklessly and righteously in turn, 
Rambling roams
To rage or refine
Wherever, whenever,
The Banjoman wilt.

Church etches its lines into hearts,
Government carves its lines into minds,
A cardinal sets upon a branch by the window,
And blazes against dim pewter sky. 

The lines no longer hold meaning,
Gone is the need to contrive,
The fruit of Eden, a little more, withers,
A little more, the imagined things die.

Hello all!

Thanks to a new and helpful mentor friend, I was prompted to journal my recent undertakings to keep everyone caught up.

I have scraped the net of all incarnations of my web serial "The Andy Crowley Saga" and have undertaken to reboot the notion from scratch. Much will stay but chief among changes will be a tighter shorter term focus on smaller novella instalments with closed arcs vs the long, sprawling approach I had taken.

I am also endeavouring to be more focused on accuracy of occult references and have boiled it down to Hermeticism, Platonism and Gnosticism.

As for drawing. I am trying, but writing, kids, work, Canadian winter and such make it tough. In my dreams, some deviants who dig my writing might someday grace the site with some character art when it is back up.
